Lo3: KTA2 Raw photo settings (NEEDS REDOING)

This is really bright so I would personally dull the brightness and make the sign stand out a lot more.

I would make the ferris wheel alot brighter so that it stands out from the rest of the things that is going of as there is a big bright light next to it.
This is a rather bright image as I think that the colours all distract each other, so i think this image would look a lot better in black and white.
This is a really bright image with a lot going of in the background so to improve this image i would blur out or get rid of all the distraction in the background.

This is a rather dull image so I would need to brighten up the light in this image to make it more interesting.
I would make the cheese grater stand out by adding light to the building.
change the colour of the lighting if i can. The red light really gives it a bad contrast.
This is a really dull image and could do with brightening up.
This is a leading lines picture with a lot going of in it so i don't think altering the brightness of the picture will help anything.

LO2: Props

I have planned to use these building and locations in its natural state, apart from in two photos where I had the camera as a prop. This is mainly because I did not feel that props were needed to help the photo's fit the theme of 'Creative & Digital Sheffield' however the ones where I used a model I often used the Camera to help it relate to the them of 'digital' as well as 'creative' as I thought it helped the the pictures link as well as fit the brief.

LO2: Permissions

The building I was shooting was the Peace Gardens, an abandoned building, in a nursing home, and the city center. I chose to do this because they are things that relate to Sheffield and what people relate the city center to. If i was to exhibit these photos in an exhibition I would have to seek permissions from the owner, to use these images especially of the castle market. If they do not agree I would have to use a different location and take some new pictures.

 Paired Portrait:
I took this photo using a 50mm lens which focused on the the two people in the frame of the picture. This photo when it was taken has a really bad light so I had to upload it into Photoshop and change the brightness and contrast so that you could see all the details in the picture. This photo has a good background with the window in the background with light shining in, making the two girls stand out really well. In this photo the girls are both looking and facing the same direction and both look like they are having a laugh, so this in general shows a similar emotion and expression from both girls on the current situation.
Solo portrait: This photo was also took with a 50mm lens this photo is solely focused on the face in the portrait, the emotion and expression of the person in the portrait. The brick wall as a background is really dull and boring, so it makes the details and emotion on the person in the portrait stand out really well, which makes it easier on the person who is viewing the picture to tell what he is feeling about the situation. However this photo could have been better if the facial expression was more clear on the person getting photographed.

This photo is showing line leading, this long yellow line on the floor shows the path towards the ramp up to the doorway. The way i edited the picture to black and white really makes the yellow line stand out more so it is easier for the viewer of the photograph to tell where the line is taking them or drawing their attention to.
This photo is a low angled shot. This is a shot from below to show all the details and emotions and expressions of the person being photographed. The way the the person being photographed is looking straight forward and the photographer from below really makes the viewer wonder what the person is looking at.

This photo shows a group portrait of everyone in the photo focusing on the same thing in the distance, this makes the person who is looking at the picture wonder what they are all looking at in the distance. The way the people are all in height order makes the photo look really effective.

LO2: 25th - 29th Production plan

I have changed my idea on photography so instead of doing 'metalwork and steel work' i choose to do different aspects of sheffield.

LO1: My Wide Angle Shot Photography

This is one of may wide-angle lenses. This is used generally for things like scenes, where the whole scene has to be included in the shot, this could also be useful in architectural, interior, and landscape photography, when the photographer is unable to walk much around a scene to photograph different angles or a wider shot without the specialized wide-angle lens.

This photo is effected by the wide-angle lens as it focuses on the girl in the background rather than the main subject of the picture which is the boy at the front. This also makes the corridor which they are walking through a lot longer as the wide-angle lens exaggerates the distant objects making it look really distant. However wide-angle lenses aren't particularly suited for portrait photography, as the lens can make their facial features greatly out of proportion. This is also shown in the picture as the boys head looks quite small compared to his body.

This photo was also take with a wide-angled lens. This affects the picture because it makes the landscape look a lot more distant making the people in the picture look more distant than they really are, making the photographer seem like they're taking the photo from a lot further away than reality.

This photo is probably one of my favorite photo's I've taken. The wide-angle lens makes the photo seem like the buildings are closing in on the photographer. The lens also make the buildings seem a lot taller than they're in reality.

The wide-angle lens makes the people in this photograph look a lot further away than the camera actually was in reality. Making it seem like the photographer wanted to get a lot of the other landscape in the photograph. This affects works really well of height order in the photograph. However I don't think a wide-angle lens is very suitable for portrait photography as it doesn't focus on any of the details or things on anyone's face, more on the background.

This photo wasn't really affected by the wide-angle lens I particularly think. However the only thing i do notice is that the lens doesn't seem to pick up the detail in any of the people's faces, this means its not the right lens to be taking portraits with.

This photo is also taken with the wide-angle lens this shows the view from one of the windows. This makes all the houses and building a bit away look really distant and far away. The lens also makes it look like there is no room within the building making them look more compact than they really are.

This photo focuses on the wall the people in the photograph are staring up to. The wide-angle lens makes the wall seem really tall and out of proportion because of the building next to it looking tiny. The people in the photo also look quite far away from the photographer which in reality they aren't.

LO2: KTA 1: Concept description

In my series of photos I want to achieve a surreal, and obscure which will all relate to the theme of the brief we was given of 'Creative & Digital Sheffield'. I will keep something similar to keep the same theme running through the pictures, so they all have a link between them. I will represent the creative and digital side of the city how I see it showing different aspects of creative side of Sheffield, and the digital side of Sheffield. For the creative side of Sheffield i had the idea of the water fountains around the sheffield centre, and the street art on the back streets, electric works 'Steel City' and 'metalwork', i could also. For the digital side of Sheffield I was thinking of something like the BBC Sheffield studio.

Concept one: To take pictures of all the steelwork and metalwork made in sheffield as sheffield is known as the 'steel city'

concept two: Take pictures of all the christmas lights

concept three: focus on one person taking photos of famous aspects of sheffield, and looking and gazing at different aspects of sheffield. To lead the viewer to the actual aspect of the thing in focus.

Concept four: instead of having a theme focus on thee content relating to the brief rather than he whole theme.

Rule of thirds:

LO1: Wide Angle Photography

This image was taken by Paul Dex it is a 'Reflection of Sydney'. This Draws your attention to where the bridge ends, and where it begins. The use of the bright lights and bright sky are reflecting the mood of of the photo. This makes the city look really small and tiny compared to the size of the bridge, which makes the bridge look more important than the city in general, especially with all the bright lights surrounding it. Using the wide angle shot helps make the bridge look more important than it is.
