Chris Saunders has been a photographer for over 10 years now, where he has photographed many well known names, from authors, to musicians. He is from Sheffield and some of his clients are the Guardian, Sony Universal Records, etc. The first well known person he photograph was Bill Hicks, where he asked if he could take his picture which is when 'if you don't ask you don't get became his motto. He basically made his portfolio of photography, around 20 years ago, where he then picked it back up around 10-11 years ago and since then he has photographed Oscar winning actors, comedian etc. Chris Saunders is a portrait photographer and band photographer, but also launched the Richard Hawley Exhibition in Sheffield.
This photo is one of Chris Saunders is an example of his band photography work. This photo is of Jarvis Cocker, Alex Turner, and Richard Hawley. Band photography is usually used for promotional material such as merchandise like t-shirts, cups etc, posters and banners for concerts or albums, or their profile on their website to explain to the people who are curious about the band and who they are. The guys inn the picture are in black and white tones where the camera is solely focused on them so that your drawn to the details of them in the picture as the the black and white effect makes the picture really dull and simple . The way one guy is stood further in front than the other could connote that he is the most important band member, and then so on backwards. The way the guy at the front is pointing towards the viewer could draw your attention into the picture.

This photo is an example of the photo's Mark Harvey takes as photography work. This picture's focus point is on the girl's face, with the background a little less focused, but not to much so you can get a feel of her background. You can get a feel of the girls background and where she is from, from the background in the picture of her hometown. Her smiling in the picture could connote that she is happy living/studying in sheffield. She's also looking up in the picture which could connote that she is looking up to the future and moving on with her life, maybe to further education. The picture could also connote that she's looking out to the world out there, and the future infront of her, and who she is going to become.
