I am going to analyse different photographers with a range of photography skills and styles.

Portrait Photography – Mario Testino

Mario Testino is one of many portrait photographers, who has done various photo shoots for the royal family. Portrait photography in generally of faces to show emotion, mood and expression on a certain subject or occasion.

Mario Testino was regularly employed by the royal family for various photo shoots such as the picture of Prince William which is wide shot portrait, which shows his importance with the way the photographer photographed the picture.

Mario Testino photographed this photo for Vanity Fair. This photo is a low angled portrait of Princess Diana to show the detail in her face and for the viewer to focus more on her face than her style.. This photo was also photographed 5 months
before she died.

Under Water Photography – Zac Macaulay

Zac Macaulay is an underwater photographer and has been for over 20 years. The process of taking photos under water is done either with specialized equipment or by scuba diving, swimming or snorkelling.

He has photographed for many events under water, and taken pictures of many famous swimmers such as Rebecca Adlington for companies such as Speedo. This picture shows a wide shot and focus on the swimmer, the aim of this photo was an advertising campaign for Speedo.

Some of the campaigns he has done underwater photography for is the British Heart Foundation on many occasions. This picture shows anchorage as in the advertising campaign they use the phrase ‘fill your lungs with fluid until you can’t breathe’ and the picture denotes this idea, as it shows a man under water panicking.

Adam Burton is on of the UK’s leading landscape photographers. Landscape photography typically captures the presence of nature.
